Pear Tree Street

Commercial

We gained planning for this new-build mixed use development to provide high quality workspace on the lower floors, with two floors of high-end residential units above. Overlooking a new public square, floor to ceiling glass maximises natural light in offices, while flats above benefit from large balconies. Carefully designed to align with neighbouring buildings, textured white brickwork offers a contemporary interpretation of London Stock brick.

Our client subsequently asked Emrys to look at an office only scheme retaining as much of the existing building as possible and working within the newly granted planning volume. We therefore proposed to replace the existing slate roof with a sculptural  corten steel and glass superstructure to complement the host building; adding  two additional floors from a lightweight CLT structure that could be flooded with light into the newly created work spaces.
