Craft Central moves to The Forge

19.07.2017

Craft Central, a charity that promotes craftsmanship and provides studios for craftspeople, are moving to The Forge, a grade II listed building which was part of the Victorian iron shipbuilding industry.

Emrys have designed  a free-standing two-storey birch wood construction which makes the most of the immense internal space of The Forge whilst not compromising the fabric of the building or the internal listed features that include two overhead tracked cranes. The scheme provides self-contained studios; meeting rooms; a full height exhibition space at the front of the building and bleacher seats which clear the overhead cranes. The space is being built out by iSpace Corporate Interiors.
